The JourneyMEN Challenge

For too long we have heard “do what I say, not what I do” and we now find ourselves living in a culture that recognizes no truth, puts little value on life, seeks its own gain, is in a state of survival, and men are not rising to the front lines to step in the gap for their family, church, or community.” – M2M Ministries
We wonder why we look the way we do in this country, our states, our cities, our communities, and our families. Men are checking out of leadership in every one of these areas. Women do most of the work in the home. Moms do most of the leading of our children. Women do most of the work in our churches. This isn’t how God designed things to be! They need our help. They want, and need us to lead!
So what is the answer? We have to reach out to men. We can’t expect that they will just come to us.
So, JourneyMEN, I have a challenge for you! We love challenges, don’t we? Here’s the challenge: Pick one guy this week… no, pick a guy every week, and reach out to him. Invite him to our next scheduled event. Invite him to lunch, and get to know him… reach out to him. It’s my hope that through this challenge every man at Daybreak Baptist will be personally invited to join this journey with us! We need to show them that we can all meet on common ground. We need to show them that they have brothers they didn’t even know they had…
a band of brothers!

Fathered By God
It’s truly apparent that God is doing a special thing among the men that have been a part of this DVD/interactive study so far.

Fire
“By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. Fathered By God
On Thursday, March 18th at 7pm we will be meeting in the Worship Center at church to start our Small Group journey “Fathered By God”. This discussion curriculum has been written by John Eldredge, the author of Wild At Heart, and founder of Ransomed Heart ministries.
